cell phone outage

I use AT&T and experienced a cell phone service loss during the recent IREA electrical power outage. Did your cell phone work and if so what service provider do you use?

I ask because many of us depend on emergency alerts for notifications and depend on cell phones for 911 access.
It seems that AT&T may not have adequate backup power in case of power outages. Don't know about other carriers in the area. I'm looking for one that works during electrical power outages.

We have sprint and it worked fine.

I realize this post is a little late, but since there's a possibility of another outage I thought I'd chime in. I have Verizon and didn't have any issues. Sometimes the weather can effect my service, though, but the power didn't mess with it at all.
