Jefferson County is excited to announce we will begin live-streaming
Board of County Commissioners
hearings on the Jefferson County website beginning August 23, 2016. At the
BCC hearings
, which typically take place Tuesday mornings, commissioners address public policies and issues in Jefferson County and make decisions that affect the community. Now, in addition to attending in person, citizens can watch the hearings live online in order to be informed and engaged about what is happening in the county.
The live hearings are a move toward further public engagement, allowing citizens easy access to important county information from the comfort and convenience of their own computer. Most importantly, live stream hearings enable citizens to be involved in the county although they may not be able to be physically present at a hearing.
In addition to viewing meetings live, citizens can still access archived video recordings, agendas and minutes of finished meetings and hearings on the Jefferson County website. The commissioners’ first live-stream hearing is Tuesday, August 23 at 8 am. Citizens can check the
hearing calendar
for hearing dates and times and access the live-stream, as well as view finished meetings and their agendas on the
view page
.
