South Platte’s Holiday Tree program will be offering two locations on the district this year to cut your Christmas tree: Buffalo Creek and Camp Fickes.
We are pleased to announce in addition to our traditional Buffalo Creek cutting area, we will be offering limited Holiday tree permits for the Camp Fickes cutting area (see cutting areas map below).
On Camp Fickes permits, there is No Camping, No Picnic, and No Trailers within the cutting area. ONLY vehicles equipped with 4-wheel drive capability are allowed in the area.
Mail-in: Tree permits will by available for purchase by mail for the Buffalo Creek and Camp Fickes cutting areas beginning on Tuesday, October 11. See the link below for the downable form. Note: along with the Christmas Tree Permit Order Form for 2016, please include your payment: check or money order. Credit cards will not be accepted for mail-in requests. Purchasers must also include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for each two permits requested; insufficient postage will result in your permit request returned to you.
Permit requests must be postmarked by Friday, October 28, to allow time for processing and return mail. We will process mail-in requests in the order received.
Counter sale: Tree permits will be available to purchase, in person, at the South Platte Ranger District office beginning Monday, November 7, at 8:00 am. We accept cash, checks, money orders, and credit cards.
