EVERGREEN, Colo. (CBS4) – In the past week, three dogs have been attacked in two different incidents.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office are asking “residents to be more vigilant” as a result.
In a Facebook post , they say the incidents happened on Jan. 23 and 24 in the Evergreen area.

In the past week, three dogs have been attacked during two separate incidents in the Evergreen area and the Sheriff’s Office would like residents to be more vigilant.
The first incident occurred on Jan. 24 at approximately 7 p.m. Two dogs were attacked and one of them was killed near the 6900 block of Lynx Lair Road. For precautionary reasons the second dog was put on a 45-day observation and given a rabies booster.
The second incident, which was reported after the first, occurred on Jan. 23 at approximately 6 p.m. The dog was attacked, but its injuries are not believed to be life threatening. This occurred on Snowshoe Road.
Though mountain lions are a common sight in many parts of JeffCo, we share this information to advise newcomers and remind folks not to leave their dogs and children unattended, especially at certain times of the day.
