MORRISON - A motorcyclist is dead after he or she was rear-ended by another vehicle on US 285 Monday night.
Colorado State Patrol says the driver involved ran away from the scene in the area of C-470 and US 285, but was later found at a nearby gas station.
The motorcyclist, who was not been identified, was headed north on 285 just after 11 p.m. when investigators say a Mazda Protege hit their bike from behind.
The ensuing investigation prompted US 285 to be closed for hours. The road was cleared just before 5 a.m.
