Saturday, December 1st marks one year that this world has been without this beautiful soul. Not a day goes by that we do not think of you, Maggie. You are dearly missed.
A tribute to Maggie from The Venue Theatre from last spring.
The high school students at The Venue Theatre are honoring Maggie Long for her birthday (Dec 17th) by handing out peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and warm socks to those in need in Denver on December 16th.
If you would like to donate some socks to this cause to honor Maggie please bring them to the 285 Corridor Angels' senior citizen bag-stuffing party on Sunday, December 2nd at 1pm at The Venue Theatre. (Or drop them off in the lobby weekday afternoons) Thank you!
People were drawn to her positive attitude, her kind heart, her infectious smile — whether she was acting in a play at the Venue Theatre in Conifer, playing on the Platte Canyon High School softball team or working in one of her family’s Bailey businesses.
“She was one hell of a kid,” said Bob Ikola, a longtime Bailey resident who coached Long on the Platte Canyon softball team.
So, when the 17-year-old was found murdered in her home off County Road 43 in Bailey last December, the community crumbled.
It’s been a year since that day, and the healing is far from over.
“Everyone was in such a dark place for so long. And they still are,” said Lauren Hunt, executive director at the Venue Theatre where Long performed in several plays. “But now that the kids are able to openly talk about Maggie and reminisce about funny stories and how she truly affected them, (it) has been really cool.

Points that Sheriff McGraw shared:
The suspects are three men directly involved in her murder and they spent a significant amount of time in the home. One or more of the suspects may have suffered injuries from the fire they set in the Long home.
They deliberately set Maggie on fire and burned her alive.
They have new sketches to be released of the suspects.
They are increasing the reward to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those guilty of her murder.

Newly-elected Sheriff Tom McGraw provided a wealth of new information on the case in an attempt to rekindle interest and ultimately receive new tips to help solve the homicide case. The press conference was conducted at the Colorado Bureau of Investigation in Lakewood.
In addition to the release of a new sketch and a new number of suspects, McGraw said Long was burned alive in the targeted attack at her home off County Road 43 in Bailey.
“Contrary to preliminary examinations, the task force investigation has determined that these suspects spent a significant amount of time in the house with Maggie on Dec. 1, 2017, and they deliberately chose to take her life,” McGraw said.
While he did confirm the attack was targeted – something investigators with the Maggie Long Task Force announced earlier in 2018 – McGraw declined to share more information in that regard, including whether the task force believes Long knew the men who killed her.

“I am committed to keeping my promises to our community, and working with the public and the task force to find those responsible for Maggie’s murder,” McGraw said in the release. “We ask the public to carefully review the updated information and consider whether someone they know could have been involved in this incident or whether someone they know has demonstrated behavior that could be suggestive of involvement in this incident.”

MAGGIE LONG DESERVES JUSTICE ~ and YOU can help!
Maggie Long was a beautiful soul with potential to change the world. She was brutally murdered - burned alive in her home - on December 1st, 2017... just two weeks before her 18th birthday.
Her killers are still on the loose almost 2 years later.
There is a $50,000 reward in this case.
Look closely at these sketches. Look at the photos of the cars seen at/near her home that day. Look at the items stolen from her home - do you know someone who acquired a gun that fit those descriptions any time since the robbery? Where did they get it? Does it have a serial number on it? Where did that safe go? It didn't just disappear...
Watch this video tribute to Maggie:
She deserves justice!
Go to MaggieLongTaskforce.com for more information and to give tips to the PCSO, FBI, CBI, ATF. You can leave an anonymous tip.
