Ask A Denver Expert: Tips For Brewing Your Own Beer[ /url]
January 21, 2016

After a serious surgery made it unable for him to perform his other job (a plumber), Charles Gilbert decided to follow his father’s advice to “do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life,” and began brewing his own beer. He became serious about the craft in the early 2000s and has been brewing outstanding beer ever since. Charles has was won multiple awards in BJCP sanctioned contests, and now owns his own home brew supply store, High Country Home Brew, which he opened in 2011. He learned most of what he knows from reading Charlie Papazian’s books, as well as just about everything else that’s been printed on the subject, but says that the brewing industry is great. He has also learned more than a thing or two from other experienced brewers and people within the community.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
