Rick Van Duyn was working as a security guard for Evergreen Security and while doing a money drop from the Safeway in Conifer to a local bank, he was shot and killed. A pickup truck that was in the bank parking lot fled and a nearby deputy gave chase after hearing the gunshots, but was lost during pursuit in heavy fog.
