JeffCo Sheriff’s Office to Target Drunk Driving
Countywide DUI Saturation Set for July 20
Jefferson County, CO. – On Friday night, July 20, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a countywide DUI saturation. The Traffic and Directed Operations Units will focus efforts on DUI enforcement in each of the three Sheriff’s Office precincts as follows:
• North Precinct: along CO Highway 58, Colfax, and West 6th Avenue
• South Precinct: along the S. Wadsworth Blvd and S. Simms St corridors
• Mountain Precinct: I-70, Evergreen Parkway, County Road 73, CO Highway 74, and US Highway 285
Jefferson County ranked among the highest in the state for DUI crashes between July 2016 and June 2017. Therefore, the purpose of this DUI saturation is to mitigate drunk driving by sending the message that driving while intoxicated will not be tolerated.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is committed to reducing the number of drunk drivers and alcohol-related accidents, and we encourage everyone to drive safely and responsibly.
