Press Release - Human Remains Discovery

On September 5, 2018 skeletal human remains were discovered near Guffey, Colo. Colorado Forensic Canines made the discovery while conducting a search associated with a missing male from April of 2017, William Iovenko. This search area was near where Mr. Iovenkos car as found in 2017. The Park County Sheriff's Office and Park County Coroner's Office conducted a field search and recovery. The identification of this individual is pending receipt of dental records for comparison by our Forensic Odontologist. The Park County Coroner's Office will conduct an anthropological exam on the remains. The cause and manner of death remain under investigation pending the completion of all exams. The media will be updated upon positive identification of the decedent.

The Park County Coroner's Office has scientifically identified the skeletal remains found September 5th near Guffey, CO using dental records. The decedent is William Bingham Iovenko. Mr Iovenko was 47 years old at the time of his disappearance. The cause and manner of death remain under investigation pending the completion of all exams.
