From Kristen Moegling in 303 Trail Monitor:

Hi trail lovers. This is Heather and Dave, they have been missing since Sunday. Their car was found in the Kenosha pass area when they had a backpacking trip planned Sunday-Tuesday but have not returned. If you have seen them please reach out! Park County search and rescue has been out looking since mid day today.

Also, all trails are really wet and snow is coming tonight.

Rescue efforts had to be paused [yesterday] due to weather. The couple are experienced hikers and were prepared for bad weather. There is also a dog with them, a Rotweiller. This is the route they planned on taking. If anyone heads up this weekend to ride fat bikes or run please keep an eye out and notify search and rescue if you find any belongings, signs, dog, etc.

Stuck And Out Of Food, Couple Rescued After Six Nights In Backcountry
CBS Denver | May 11, 2019 at 7:53 pm

PARK COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) — A Denver-area couple walked out of the wilderness as the sun came up Saturday – cold, wet, tired, hungry.

And grateful.

The couple, Dave and Heather Skillman, set out last Sunday for a three-day excursion. Miles into the journey, they lost the trail in the snow and veered into unfamiliar terrain.

“It was a massive undertaking,” Sheriff McGraw said. “Three days, thirty-five to forty people over those three days. They’re all at home sleeping now.”

Park County Search and Rescue and the Park County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Teller County Search and Rescue, Alpine Search and Rescue, Douglas County Search and Rescue, and the Lake George and Hartsel fire departments.

Glad they were found alive. Early season camping can be quite risky.
