US 285 Resurfacing Project North of Fairplay Week of June 16, 2019

Monday, June 17 through Friday, June 21, there will be daily lane closures on US 285 north of Fairplay for milling and paving operations. Flagging operations with only one lane alternating traffic. Expect Delays.

Daytime Single Lane Closures on US 285 (north of Fairplay).
Monday, June 17 through Thursday, June 20 - sunrise (5:17 a.m.) to sunset (8:45 p.m.) each day
Friday, June 21 - sunrise (5:16 a.m.) to 12 noon
There may be two closure areas in the construction zone daily.
Monday - Northbound single lane closure at approximate milepost 188.00 - 190.00
Tuesday - Southbound single lane closure at approximate milepost 190.00 - 188.50
Wednesday - Southbound single lane closure at approximate milepost 188.50 - 186.00
Thursday - Southbound single lane closure at approximate milepost 186.00 - 184.50
Friday - Southbound single lane closure at approximate milepost 184.50 - 184.00


Traffic Impacts

• Motorists should expect flagger operations with north and southbound one-lane alternating traffic.
• At least a 15-minute delay at each closure and a 40 mile per hour speed limit reduction.
• Construction will take place during daylight hours, Monday through Thursday, and sunrise to Noon, Friday.
• Alternative routes are suggested.

• Pay close attention when driving near the US 285 Resurfacing Project.
• Speed reduction down to 40 mph in construction zone during the duration of the project.
• Slow down, observe speed limits, and avoid distractions.

Construction schedules are subject to change based on weather/unforeseen circumstances and schedule changes.

Project Information
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has initiated a 20-mile resurfacing and 3-mile widening (passing lanes) project located north and south of Fairplay, Colo. designed to improve safety and ride quality. The project includes 3-miles of passing lanes in each direction just south of Fairplay. It also includes culvert extensions, surface improvements and guardrail updates.
