One person has died as the result of a two-vehicle crash Friday night on Red Hill Pass in Park County. The following is the Colorado State Patrol report.

The driver of the Toyota was identified as Shawn McGuire, a 56 year-old male from Alma Colorado. He was transported by flight to St. Anthony’s Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Hyundai was identified as Jacquline Benns, a 30 year-old female from Bailey Colorado. The two passengers in the vehicle were Adam Smith, a 28 year-old male form Lakewood Colorado, and Tristan Benns, an 8 year-old juvenile male from Bailey Colorado. Tristan Benns was pronounced as deceased on scene.

Tragic beyond words.

you will never grow old.
You will just keep growing.

A friend of Jacky's started a GoFundMe for her. She posted that Jacky's only wish for everyone is that they hug their loved ones tight. If you'd like to contribute to the fund:
Fundraiser for the Benns Family

On Friday, December 20th, Jacky, Adam and Tristan were driving on US 285 when an unthinkable car accident happened calling Tristan home with God our Father and putting Adam in the hospital and changing their lives forever. We are asking for help for this incredible family to help them make it through this terrible time.

This is an incredible family so full of love and adventure and happiness. Tristan was an incredible boy who was called home too soon. He was full of kindness and silliness and always down for exploring and learning new things. He was a developing wrestler and loved to go gold mining with his Mom and Adam. His silly faces and heartfelt laughter will be in our hearts forever.

Please consider helping this amazing and strong family. Our hearts and prayers are with them.

***UPDATE*** I wanted to share with you all that Physically Adam is doing well. The good news for today is that Adam is officially home from the hospital! I just found out! He does have a road of recovery ahead of him but he is strong and is on his road to recovery. Jae and Adam have both asked one thing, Hold your loved ones close and love them fiercely as everything can change in an instant. Both them and their family have expressed their deepest thanks for all of the support and the love and donations and EVERYTHING everyone has done for them. I have upped our goal in light of Adam's injury and other costs that may come up with this devastating turn of life events. Please keep sharing this and thank you all so much for all you have done and continue to do for this incredible and STRONG family! We love them very much!
