Neighbors,
As we face this unprecedented global emergency please remember the people within your own community. People who already face hardships are going to find it even more difficult to put food on their tables and keep a roofs over their heads. Food banks are going to face even greater shortages than the rest of us. People in the service industries are already facing layoffs and we are only a couple of weeks into this. Behind the scenes, there are many things being implemented to offer short term assistance but there is nothing better than neighbors helping neighbors.
Platte Canyon Chamber of Commerce is working with the Chambers of Commerce in Evergreen and Conifer to develop means, which facilitate opportunities to keep a level of normalcy and lessen the overall impact. We are coming together and collaborating with local government to ensure our local communities are best informed.
For access to restaurants a Facebook page has been developed to keep all abreast of hours, specials and services available, in this time of a carryout/delivery dining.

In addition, Evergreen Macaroni Kid has published an interactive map of local restaurants in the mountain area which is very helpful. The map can be found at the following link:

The goal for this page is to be a single landing point for updated takeout and delivery options. We encourage restaurant owners to post on this page and consumers to have a one-stop page.
There are also other events, benefitting the public, which we should all remember. One of the first events to be canceled, in the Bailey area, was the Chances Scholarship Barbecue and Auction. Chances provides scholarships to students at Platte Canyon High School. Last year, the organization was able to provide students with $7,000.00 in educational assistance. In the interest of public safety, the public event was cancelled, and the auction will go forward, online. Please help and join that auction, online, March 21st 12:00 to 6:00 PM.

We can’t let this emergency destroy us. We will face hardships and life will change, during the emergency. We want to help insure we come out as whole as we can on the other end. Please join us in working to keep people fed, roofs over their heads, charities whole and people safe.
