James “Duke” Dozier, long-time Intermountain Rural Electric Association director, passed away on March 18.

Duke served on IREA’s Board of Directors for 19 years. He was a vocal advocate for the customers he represented in Director District 2, which includes the communities of Bailey, Conifer, Evergreen, Grant, Pine, Shawnee, southern Castle Rock and portions of eastern Douglas County. Duke was a strong voice on IREA’s Board in support of projects aimed at improving service reliability for customers along the Highway 285 corridor.

Duke was a life-long resident of the Platte Canyon area. He found success in the insurance and real estate development industries and helped his community through service on many local boards.

The IREA family offers our deepest condolences to Duke’s dear wife, Peggy, and their family. We will miss you, Duke!
