For students looking for scholarships for college, here is some info and it is free to enter.

Voice of democracy is for high school students and Patriots pen is for middle school students.
Home schooled is also eligible for this.
It is easy, the student writes an essay on the topic for this year, submit it to the local VFW Post. From there it is judged and if wins at Post level goes to District Level, if wins there then goes to Department level. If the winner at Department level then it goes to National. There is awards at every level. The Department of Colorado winner gets an all expense paid trip to Washington DC. (With the virus not sure if that will still happen). At national level, every student entered into the National level will win a scholarship, with the 1st place winner getting $30,000.00.
