my understanding....PALM OIL is the ingredient that is "slave labor'' in Indonesia/Philippines (or around that
side of the globe) ....because of that factor the Girls and the Org.felt it was important NOT to use slave labor
and have their product associated with the act. NO PRODUCTION is my understanding, unless they find
another source.
Per WSJ, palm oil is trading at historic highs. Indonesia is having production problems because of Covid. So maybe the Girl Scouts couldn't afford to use palm oil?
The Girl Scouts should use drones to make deliveries of cookies in this day and age. Their scouts could learn about electronics, aviation, meterology and other diverse skills.
And sign me up for a carton of Thin Mints. See how well the drones fly at high altitude in mountain weather with cargo.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
