Driver Wanted for Vehicular Assault

Mill, Alan (122783)

At 9:50 a.m. on Sunday, June 19, deputies responded to a hit and run crash involving an SUV and two cyclists. The crash occurred in the 29000 block of US Highway 40. Both cyclists sustained injuries; one victim – an adult female – remains in critical condition. An arrest warrant has been issued for the driver, Alan (Haley) Mill, DOB 12/27/83. The warrant is for Assault in the First Degree (2 counts) and Accidents Involving Death or Personal Injuries, in this case a hit and run with serious bodily injury.

The sheriff’s office is seeking the public’s help in locating the vehicle: a 2018 grey Ford Escape with temporary Colorado plate 2959061. The vehicle should have front end damage. Mill is the registered owner and is the suspect in this case. Multiple witnesses state Mill intentionally drove into the two cyclists, who were with a group of cyclists traveling eastbound on Highway 40. Mill, also traveling eastbound, struck the two after having passed another cyclist in the group. Immediately after, Mill drove through the El Rancho restaurant parking lot at a high rate of speed, seemingly to dislodge a badly damaged bicycle from beneath his vehicle. Then Mill fled eastbound on I-70, also at a high rate of speed. Investigators are not aware of any precipitating actions that may have provoked Mill.

Mill is currently not in custody. If anyone sees Mill or the suspect vehicle, they are asked to call local law enforcement immediately. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 303-271-5612 or Denver Metro Crime Stoppers: 720-913-STOP (7867); reference case number 22-10305.

Alan “Haley” Mill, 38, is accused of deliberately ramming a vehicle into bicyclists critically injuring a female rider.

“This person passed a cyclist and then drove off the road intentionally onto the shoulder and into two other cyclists and possibly accelerated while doing that,” Jenny Fulton of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office explained.

Witnesses said Mill drove into the parking lot of the El Rancho restaurant driving in circles trying to dislodge a bicycle from beneath the vehicle.

CBS4 checked and found Mill has a lengthy criminal record for drugs, burglary, driving without a license and more.
