Congratulations to our new firefighters and promoted Lt Winefeldt!

Last night, at the ECPFD board meeting, three probationary firefighters became full members of the fire department. They were officially sworn in and pinned with their new badges. Congratulations to Firefighters Andrew McManus, Andy Beckwith, and John Zeugschmidt!

In addition, Firefighter Jesse Winefeldt was promoted to the position of Lieutenant, and was pinned with a new Lieutenant’s badge. Congratulations Lt. Winefeldt!

As ECFPD Board President Greg Pixley stated last night during the pinning ceremony, there are three benchmarks in a Firefighter's career that they will always remember. One is when they retire and move onto the next phase of their lives. One is when they are promoted. This is when firefighters take on more responsibility in protecting the community, their fellow firefighters, and their family. The other, and perhaps the most significant, is when they are first sworn in as a new firefighter. Without this original event, none of the others would follow.
