As with any complex issue, there's a lot to learn about why the situation has come about and how to best solve the problems. The districts paid an independent firm last year to study each of the districts in-depth - their personnel, equipment, number and types of calls, challenges, history, culture, potential problems based on trends, etc and to evaluate if consolidation was feasible as a solution for the districts. It was released at the beginning of this year and you can read it for yourself here: elkcreekfire.org/wp-content/uploads/cons...solidation-Study.pdf

Cooperative Services Feasibility Study for 285 Corridor Fire Departments

Please take the time to find out more about this issue and share your thoughts with your fire district as it impacts us all.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

Our thanks to the Canyon Courier for reporting on our fire district board meetings, including this story on consolidation on their front page on February 2nd. North Fork Fire Chief Rogers and Inter-Canyon Fire Battalion Chief Hatlestad were also interviewed by CBS Denver, and the story led their 10 o'clock news.

We'll be sharing more details in our presentation at this Wednesday's Conifer Town Hall Meeting.
