Official Statement Regarding the Use of Our Logo and Name in Campaigning

The Elk Creek Fire Protection District has received numerous questions on the use of the District’s name and/or logo related to campaign messaging or materials for the November 7, 2023 Election. In order to answer these questions for the benefit of the public broadly and to resolve any confusion moving forward, the District is issuing this statement.

The District has not and will not authorize the use of its name or logo with regard to any campaign committee or group. Furthermore, the District has not and does not endorse any campaign committee or group. This position is consistent with Colorado campaign laws and regulations applicable to public entities. Any official position or statement by the District will only be shared on official District platforms and through official statements such as this one. As such, any campaign messages or materials that may include the District’s name or logo should not be construed as statements by or on behalf of the District for any reason.
