Volunteers! Help save your own life with an easy volunteer slot this week directing traffic for wildfire mitigation along Hwy 126 south of Pine Junction.
Conifer Rotary has a volunteer/grant project on Hwy 126, and we need people to help direct traffic.
I'm happy to say drivers are being careful, and many are waving.
This project could save your life because a common way of dying in a wildfire is being stuck in a traffic jam with flames on the side of the road. This project is cutting down on the flames on the side of the road, and widening the fuel break that is the road.
I'm having a hard time recruiting enough volunteers because it is weekdays. So if you have time and can stand for 2 hours, please volunteer. The weather is still beautiful!
