LOS ANGELES -- Dennis Hopper, the high-flying Hollywood wild man whose memorable and erratic career included an early turn in "Rebel Without a Cause," an improbable smash with "Easy Rider" and a classic character role in "Blue Velvet," has died. He was 74.

As a prostate cancer survivor I wish they would explain more than just say he died from prostate cancer. Was it just discovered (too late)? Did he have it a long time? What treatment methods were used to try and treat it?

I'm sure his lifestyle didn't help. I would think more info will come out soon

I've actually never seen "Easy Rider." It came out in 1969 and I was watching the space program (Apollo's 9-12 were launched in 1969). In fact, the only movie I remember watching that year was Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

I only saw True Grit last year. I'd seen bits and pieces but not from beginning to end.
