You should not sign contracts to write a book and then ask others to give you a plot, storyline, and such. That is plagiarism, totally immoral, lazy, etc. Disgusting!

Lighten up MB, it's none of those things. Just some fun.

Hey Major, you too can do it! Go here to see how and why. It's not any of things you accuse me of. You could have asked and I'd have told you. :)
It's called National Novel Writing Month. Free, fun and not-so-easy. Hope you try it, I'd love to see your work!

I was not "in" on the joke. I have reread this thread and have not found the hint that this was a spoof. But I will withdraw my comment on this subject.

I guess that I am laughing my tail off and enjoying the humor.

Thank you, everyone, for your thoughts. Funny how I just ended up right back where I started and will write the thing that's been wanting to be written. It just wasn't my first choice and was hoping for a better idea. Oh well and here I go! :)

NaNoWriMo is NOT a contract in any way, shape, or form. It is a challenge for writers to get motivated and get something done.

There is no prize- except the sense of accomplishment - no promise of anything, except that you managed to write 50,000 words. Even if the 50,000 words are "dog, dog, dog".

Getting support IS part of it. Getting encouragement IS part of it.

If something comes of it, then cool. If not, then not.

Loping - got no suggestions for you, working on my own. lol
