Platte Canyon Fire Protection District has banned all controlled burns and campfires on private property until further notice.

I assume because of the fire danger, but you would have to ask Chief Davis to be sure.

Do you have a link on this? I did read that they are expecting some bad fire danger in July this year.

No link, Chief Davis called it in to Fairplay dispatch this morning (scanner).
Shiloh posted it in the fire scanner forum too

PCFPD still does not show any information regarding a ban on their website.
Maybe someone who lives in the district would call them at 303 838-5853 and inquire, and let the rest of us know the answer?

Per Becky in Fire Scanner Forum
Contrary to what you might read elsewhere,
The Platte Canyon Fire Ban remains in effect until further notice from the Platte Canyon Fire District.
(per the Platte Canyon Fire District secretary)
Hopefully they will post something on their website soon to help keep the public informed.
Thanks for dispelling the rumors! lol
