Here’s another obvious research finding: your style of flirting determines the outcome of your relationships. Researchers at The University of Kansas divided flirting into five categories: traditional, playful, physical, sincere and polite. Sadly, no definitions are given so I can only speculate that playful means tugging on pigtails, physical falls along the lines of a body part grab, a “nice eyes” compliment feels like it lies somewhere between sincere and traditional, and polite, well, can we even call that flirting?
After questioning more that 5,100 people about their flirting style and relationship history, researchers determined that those whose flirting style was playful or physical in nature, had shorter, less serious relationships. Naturally, those you chatted up the opposite sex with a more sincere and polite approach, established longer relationships.
