Hi Anita from another Texan
First time for 285 Bound but I have posted on Lionsbrooke and Pinecam for a number of years. My ties to Colorado? Daughter use to live there and introduced me to Pinecam.
I have been a senior citizen for a number of years, two wonderful daughters (just do not discuss politics - where did we go wrong?). We are owned by two cats, Joey and Benji. I am a retired social worker (post adoption) and hubby is retired form Exxon. After moving to Lakeway, in the Texas Hill Country, from Houston 20+ years ago I felt like I had died and gone to Heaven.
Politically? The center or maybe a little to the right of center. For the first time in my many years of voting I went for the straight ticket but had to hold my nose on the governor.
I look forward to posting but need to get my toes a little wet first.
Politicians are like diapers, they need to be changed often
Welcome texan! I remember you from PC also and am glad to have you over here checking us out! I think you will love the people, the freedom, the openness and the community feeling we all try and maintain here, (other than politics). I hope you enjoy it.
"Hello Texan from a former Houstonian."
Don't know when you lived in Houston but I lived there from Jr. High till we moved to the Hill Country in 1988. Houston is not the small city that I fell in love with when when my parents moved there in 1944.
"How do you all handle the humidity there in Texas?"
It's what one is use to. My sinuses protest the dry humidity of the higher elevations with splitting headaches.
