LAKEWOOD - The state's largest school district cut millions of dollars from its budget on Thursday night and decided to eliminate 136 jobs.

The Jeffco Public Schools board voted 4 to 1 to pass the budget just before 10 p.m.

Jeffco Schools is facing a $50 million budget shortfall. The budget passed Thursday night cuts $14 million through layoffs, larger class sizes, less choice for electives and secondary credits, less classroom support, less office and building support, fewer transportation routes and less technology.

Here we go again. The district just cut one secretary form each school. That area can't get much thinner.
