LAKEWOOD - The state's largest school district cut millions of dollars from its budget on Thursday night and decided to eliminate 136 jobs.
The Jeffco Public Schools board voted 4 to 1 to pass the budget just before 10 p.m.
Jeffco Schools is facing a $50 million budget shortfall. The budget passed Thursday night cuts $14 million through layoffs, larger class sizes, less choice for electives and secondary credits, less classroom support, less office and building support, fewer transportation routes and less technology.
