How much snow will fall in Bailey this Wed?

I never understand this "we need it in December". Folks, it all evaporates up here this time of year. Let the high mountains have it, and they have plenty already.

Nothing soaks in the ground in Bailey until March or April. Screw the snow.

Joe, there is still a fire danger in this area. I saw 3 people in the past 2 week pitch their cigs out their car window. Look at all the dried grass blowing in the wind that would be less of a hazard if it was wet with snow.
Snow cover would have kept quite a bit of dust down during the last few days of wind storms as well.
Snow still does provide moisture even in winter for plants, trees and especially our forest animals animals. I fill our bird bath multiple times a day for the birds, squirills and even the deer.

It won't evaporate if there is hardly any frost in the ground, like this past 50 degree week, so yes it would have soaked in. The front range still needs it. Especially the basins that supplies the North Fork, Deer Creek, Elk Creek and Bear Creek drainages. We can no longer afford to rely on sping snowfall. We have been getting less and less every year on this side of the divide especially in this area. We also can't rely on Denver Water to properly move water to where it needs to go, even in years when the high mountains are getting quite a bit. A drought effects all communities on the 285 corridor, not just Bailey.

Besides, who doesn't want a "White Christmas"?
