It is my opinion that the big players in the internet commerce and advertising have been able to present themselves as "un-spam". Most of the unwanted emails that people receive are not from phishers or sex-commerce soliciters, but, rather, from big name players. It is still unsolicited and unwanted. It is spam. That needs to change.

The article to which you linked plays rather wild and loosely with the term "spam". Isn't the term traditionally applied to email communications? I have never seen it applied to websites or advertisers.
