Wonderful. It's amazing how clear statistics can become with visual aids.

Some wonderful images:

The Cholera Epidemic In Longdon, 1854, by Dr. John Snow, using little bars to show each instance of cholera, concluding that those who lived near and were using a particular water pump were the ones getting cholera, minus the brewery.

The Challenger explosion, where, if the data on the O-rings had been properly graphed, the decision-makers would likely have not sent it up in below freezing weather.

Tufte also provided a visual on Napoleon's march to and from Moscow, although Tufte did not compose it.
