By the way....we were lucky enough last night to see the shuttle and the space station in the same sky about 9.15 pm at Bandimeer. It was an awesome site and the last time anyone will ever get a chance to see that ever again.

No, I think once we get a new President in there, the flights will resume.
Nothing associated with the exploration of space and our solar system will be the last time. Too much curiosity and potential for making huge sums of money exist. Note news reports about space of people addressing fundamental questions. How do we produce artificial gravity? How do we get faster space traveling vehicles? Is there a way to identify and exploit worm holes?, ect. etc. Questions like this dictate research directions. With discoveries, comes additional research and before you know it there will be a private space industry. Pioneers of that industry are already hard at work. Space scenes like you saw are just the beginning.
