Well, if it's real, they are brave. I don't care what kind of suit they gave me, I wouldn't stand there!

Looks realistic enough to me. It's not from inside the volcano, rather it is from inside the volcano crater. Standing where he is represents a calculated risk. Note the energy of the lava, likely related to gas bubble emissions, displays a degree of regularity. This seems to suggest no blockages to the emission of volatiles, hence no explosive releases that would send lava to varying levels. Were a hiccup to occur, the guy would be toast. The suit would not protect him from a direct lava hit.

Lava volatility is impressive since it's behaving much like water, a far less viscous fluid. Consequently, the lava action within the crater attests to the violent and powerful emissions. Neat.

Crazy people. Imagine just the air temperature where he is--toxic gasses notwithstanding. That climb is a terrible risk. I visited the mouth of an active crater in Nicaragua once--hot as it could be. The heat coming up through my shoes just walking up to the edge was memorable.

It appears the first video was shot from the rim, looking down, using a telephoto lens that compresses the distance, making it appear they were closer than they actually were. But even then, I agree, I wouldn't be anywhere inside there, just because of the heat.
