Stegman says U.S. 50 is closed from State Highway 9 at the Royal Gorge to Salida. Traffic is being routed through State Highway 9 to Harstel, U.S. 24 west to Johnsons Village and U.S. 285 south to Salida and Poncha Springs.

Ever glance at the mountainside boulders when driving below? I love mountain driving but sometimes I accelerate in high risk zones.

I always used to look at the boulders and worry when driving by them. Thank goodness no one was driving by when that happened.

Of courser spring and during storms are the more like time for them to come loose. At least in winter they seem to freeze up.
