(CNN) -- This time it was the intruder who called 911.

A man who broke into a house in Portland, Oregon, called police -- afraid the homeowner may have a gun.

The suspect, Timothy James Chapek, was in the bathroom taking a shower when the homeowner returned to the house Monday night, Portland police said in a statement.

I have heard that if that happened locally, there would be a very good chance the homeowner would have a firearm.

I think the dogs may have had something to do with it. Saying, I broke in and and "I afraid the owners dogs will bite me" just does not seem to carry the same weight as "I am afraid he will shoot me".
