Development east of Pine Junction raises visual, safety issues
A rezoning case that would allow campsites at Shaffers Crossing at U.S. 285 and South Elk Creek Road just east of Pine Junction was heard but put on hold by Jefferson County Commissioners until March 22.
The case was presented March 1 by applicant Norm Lewis, with county staff presentation by Jeanne Shaffer - whose surname has no relation to Shaffers Crossing. The change will be from agricultural to planned development of 57 acres.
i'm giving thanks that there are wetlands involved. hopefully those issues will be addressed by the commissioners and they vote no or that ron lewis will move it elsewhere if he insists on having it.
