IMHS Shelter Needs -- Updated 6/24/11

Busy, busy days at the IMHS shelter mean that our supply needs are changing frequently. Thank you all for checking this thread to see what our latest needs are:

DRY ADULT DOG FOOD: we need the "all-brown" type without food coloring and dyes that tend to upset tummies.

CANNED PUMPKIN is used to settle those tummies when they get upset. This item is tough to find in the "regular" grocery stores this time of year, but the organic food stores, like Whole Foods and Sunflower Market, typically stock this item all year.

ALL-MEAT VARIETY BABY FOOD is fed to our littlest kittens. It helps to stimulate the appetite and its high-calorie content helps our babies grow big and strong!

CARDBOARD BOX TOPS are used as training litter boxes for our kittens...

... and wood pellets are used as litter for our adult cats. We need another ton of 'em soon and would welcome any MONETARY DONATIONS to help with this purchase. You can drop off your contribution at the IMHS shelter during opening hours, Tuesday-Friday 11 am until 2 pm and Saturday 11 am until 4 pm (mail also works, PO Box 1250 Conifer 80433, and we're set up with Paypal and Network for Good as well -- you'll find the links on our website, www.imhs.org.

Finally, we use Libman mops with the replaceable mop heads in the shelter. We need LIBMAN WONDER MOP REFILL mop heads. These are at all the grocery stores and multiples packs are at Costco and Sam's.

Thank you for making the effort to obtain and donate these supplies, which will help us to provide the best care we can for all our critters!

We are getting close to being out of the adult dog food. We need the "all-brown" type because the dyes and additives in the other kinds seem to upset the dogs digestive systems. Perhaps because of the stress involved in being in the shelter. Costco brand is good. Any help is appreciated!

Costco and Iams are two that come to mind. Any others that are free of dyes should be good, too. Thanks, jmc!

Am going to the grocery store tomorrow or Wed. and will pick up some baby food. Any preference as to what brand?

No preference on baby food brand. Any one of the all meat varieties will do. Thanks, MoCat!

I left a bag with baby food in it on the porch at the shelter. But the boxes for litter training are still in my car.
