Surgical Suite Progress

Here are a few pics of the progress at the surgery suite. These are from last week. The walls are now all completed. We will be putting plastic paneling on the walls this coming week to make cleanup easier. Those are ordered and should be available for pick-up on Tuesday. The wall being built is to separate the suite into two areas. The back area (seen in the first two images) will be for isolation and will have an exhaust system. The front area will be for veterinary care. The kennel/caging you see are extras that we had in storage and will be installed to house animals awaiting and/or recovering from care.

Thanks to everyone who has donated to this cause! Between monetary donations and donations of items from some veterinarians and other shelters we have managed to get a nice collection of items including a surgical lamp, surgical table, microscope, surgical tools, anesthesia machine, autoclave and some other monitoring and test equipment. I'll try to get some more updated pictures to share with the community as I am able.

It looks way better now. So much work has gone into this. Thanks to everyone who has been coming on their days off, or working extra, or volunteering their time to get this up and running in a very short amount of time.

Also at last night's IMHS meeting, an update was given on the status of the new surgical suite being built. It is under budget and almost complete.

Again, our apologies for the less than stellar video quality.

The surgical suite is very close to being ready. Here are some photos from today. We would still like to get a couple of folding chairs if anyone has some they are not using anymore. (Thanks!)

Very nice job guys!

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
