We've taken in 2 pregnant-to-term cats this past week--here comes kitten season (pls spay your cat! For low-cost spay/neuter, call 303-984-7729). In gearing up for babies needing care, here's what the IMHS shelter needs this week:
- KMR (kitten milk replacer, or similar brand)- this is powdered formula that comes in a can and can be purchased from grocery stores in the pet section, or at pet supply stores. We use it to feed orphaned, nursing babies
- kitten chow, dry food (IAMS or Purina are good brands)
- canned kitten food (IAMS in the purple cans is terrific stuff, or Pro-Plan)
- canned cat food, any brand, pate style
The shelter also needs:
- copy paper
- 1st class postage stamps
- a grass (fake, plastic ok) doormat for our kennel door
- we can ALWAYS use more bleach and laundry soap!
We have sent home 3 animals so far this month. Big thanks to all for your support in caring for them til they find their forever homes!
