May has been a delightful month at IMHS and we've sent home 29 animals so far!
This week the shelter has a short list of needs, but we're in quite a pinch for these items, so please help if you are able:
- distilled water for the autoclave in the clinic. This is less than $1 per gallon and it's sold in the bottled water section of the grocery store
- wood stove pellets. Pine Country Feed sells 40 lb bags for only $4.99 and we're desperately low. We use these pellets as cat litter in the shelter (they absorb odor and are largely dust-free!)
- 1st class postage stamps
- page savers, 8 1/2 x 11" size
- kitten chow, canned & dry
Photo of the week is our angel Gabriel sending out smiles to you kind-hearted souls who pick up wish-list items for the shelter:
Wags and purrs to the lovely and talented art students at Conifer High School who put together an art show this weekend and chose to donate part of their sales to IMHS! There's nothing more inspiring than young people with a sense of charity and a heart for animals
Thanks a million,
Marta Anderson
Shelter Director
Open 7 days/week for ADOPTIONS!
Pine Country Feed will continue to carry pellets thru-out the summer because they know folks are using them for cat litter, (and the occasional chilly night).
Thanks jmc!
We even have a new storage bin that items can be put in if we are closed when you stop by.
Offsite cat adoptions have put us at 34 adoptions for the month just since yesterday morning...THANK YOU to everyone in the community for your donations of money and supplies to aid us in saving and rehoming so many animals. Truly, we couldn't do it without YOU!
QUICK REMINDER- your soda and beer cans turn to ca$h and save animals when you donate them to IMHS for recycling! If you can't get to the shelter during open hours (11am - 4pm every day, til 7pm Weds evenings) simply bag your cans and drop them at our doorstep. We'll recycle them to benefit the animals!
