Hi Everyone! Tessa is one heck of an exuberant, fun dog. She came to IMHS a few weeks ago from an overcrowded animal control shelter that could no longer keep her. Tessa is young and energetic--she is a terrier mixed with some kind of herding breed, we believe, and has unstoppable energy! She's the type of smart dog who very quickly becomes bored in the shelter, and starts to turn things upside down in her kennel and chew on her bedding as an outlet for her frustration. Tessa settles down nicely in a home environment and adoption to an active home would solve her boredom problem.
In the meantime, our volunteer dog walkers and animal enrichment team get Tessa out as often as possible to help burn her energy and keep her happy, but we're inviting the community's help with caring for her! We'd welcome folks from the community to take Tessa out for a jog, hike, or romp on a trail to give her a little extra exercise and social stimulation.
Want to spend a little quality time with Tessa? Pull on your snow boots and come meet her! IMHS is open daily and we'd welcome your help exercising Tessa between 8am - 4pm any day (or til 7pm on Wednesdays).
Thanks a million everyone, for donations of time and supplies, and helping to spread the word about adoptable animals in the shelter. It really DOES take a village! See Tessa (and share her story with others!)on our Facebook page at
