IMHS Holds “Everything Goes With Black” Adoption Special
Reduced Adoption Fees For Black Cats

A sudden surge in the homeless feline population at Intermountain Humane Society (IMHS) has led to a preponderance of black cats, so the shelter is running a special adoption fee through Saturday, March 30th.

“Every shelter knows that black cats are the last to be adopted,” said Marta Anderson, IMHS Shelter Director, “No matter how wonderful the personality or striking their black fur looks in the sun, black cats are often treated like they are invisible by potential adopters so we hope a $25 adoption fee will draw urgent attention to these loving animals.”

Half of the IMHS shelter cats are black and the cat population has increased suddenly in just the past week.

“Every week we receive calls about animals in need, so we hope to find new loving, lifetime homes for these black cats quickly,” stated Anderson, “We know there are people who recognize that each animal is an individual, with a unique personality. Our black cats have special attributes that just need adopters with discerning taste, who will recognize their value as individuals.”

Every IMHS cat is spayed or neutered, given age-appropriate vaccines, de-wormed, tested for feline leukemia/FIV, micro-chipped, and comes with a free vet visit and a cardboard carrier.

The Shelter is now open seven days a week, from 11 am to 4 pm daily but with evening hours on Wednesday when the shelter is open from 11 am to 7 pm.
Intermountain Humane Society is a private, non-profit organization that receives no government funding and relies solely on donations and community support to serve its mission. IMHS is located at 67318 US Hwy 285 S in Pine Junction.
