Here it is the last day of August...and we have 35 wonderful adoptions to be extremely happy about. That's 35 deserving animals that have found a new loving home!
Our wish list for this week is as follows-
Laundry Detergent- we are on our last box of laundry soap. Liquid or powdered is just fine-we'll use it all.
Self Wringing mops- the kind that can be wrung out by hand. Ours are falling apart.
DRY Cat and Kitten Food- Cat Chow works great.
Small plastic garbage bags- the 8 gallon size.
Bleach.
Our picture of the week is one that will melt your heart-
This is a picture of Buddy and Layla- two wonderful dogs who were adopted today. They each came in by themselves and quickly became buddies in the play yard. A wonderful couple came in today looking for one and possibly two dogs and decided to take these two "out for a test drive". One long walk around the shelter grounds convinced them that Buddy and Layla were the ones they wanted to open their home up to. With many hugs and tears we loaded them up in the car for the drive. You can see in their faces just how happy they are. They know that they are going home.
The shelter is full of loving animals just like Buddy and Layla. We hope that you will take the time to come in and visit. Maybe you can give a happy ending to an animal that deserves one. We are open 7 days a week to do just that!
We apologize for the lack of a wish list last week. To our faithful readers we are truly sorry for the absence. This past week has been very busy and very bittersweet. Our former director Marta Anderson departed on Wednesday and we wish her well. Marta made a huge difference in the organization and set IMHS on the path for growth and continued hard work for the animals and community we serve. We miss her dearly and send good thoughts her way.
