I saw where Steve Wynn is trying to legalize poker sites in the US. That would be cool but I still worry about players getting together to cheat. Easy to do table talk with IM.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
Oh I got some stories about online poker..After a few weeks at one site running my mouth and dominating I developed a following...People would watch me wherever I went..Whatever table I went to filled up imeadiatly and people were just watching! Thats all, not playing, just watching and talking s*** to me hoping i'd lose.....A big peanut gallery follwed me wherever I went- I was getting bored so i told them If I don't win the big Holdem tournament that night, i'd leave forever...I worked them into a frenzy and you guessed it- I won that tournant, outta like 500 people entered- I won it in dramatic fashion at the final table against the king of the site..There was like 1000 watchers that night, and they were all amazed that I backed up the big talk, so was i.....I swear that was my greatest night on the internet. They thought I was either a god,. or that I worked for the site and hacked out the win because it is hard to believe anyone can pick a winner in a 500 horse race..That was beautiful

It is extremely easy to detect this kind of thing, which any reputable site does. They will also investigate the Hand Histories very thoroughly if you email them with the slightest suspiscion of such activity. They will close the offending account and seize the cheaters' funds. They will also use those funds to make amends to EVERY player in the tournament at the time the cheating occurred. At least that is what reputable sites do.
Anyone who plays is well aware it is not worth the risk. Given the latest actions of the US government, player cheating would be the least of concerns regarding online poker.
Like I said, don't be nieve. Despite cameras and everybody watching eachother in vegas- dealers, patrons, casino managment, everybody cheats...... everyday, right in front of you- This a computer program you're talking about...Common sense should tell you it's not always on the up and up..Let me just try to google something up
