NFL players have scheduled a 6 p.m. MT conference call with the NFLPA Executive Committee and player representatives. If an agreement can be reached, it would bring an end to the more than four-month-long lockout.

The owner-led proposal to play an 18-game regular season had been taken off the table early in the negotiations, yet, the deal calls for the two sides to revisit the issue in 2013.

Saturday - The league year would commence at 2 p.m. with teams able to sign free agents and officially open training camp.

:yeahthat: A Science Chic without Football wouldn't be either! lol

I'm glad the 18-game proposal is off the table. It's a brutal game, there shouldn't be more than there already are (I think they should get rid of 2 pre-season games too - they're worthless).

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

agree....I would rather see informal scrimmages than pre-season games.

There is nothing like watching an NFL game and enjoying the full NFL season. If the players hold out for more there may not be a 2011 season and that will be very sad. There however some alternatives, it's not the same as NFL football and I have a hard time picking a team that I like but at least it's football: http://www.cfl.ca/schedule/year/2011/time_zone/0 If you get ESPN3 you can watch the games, I'm still looking for an online option that is free.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus
