Bubba Smith passes at 66

Lengendary Defender dies at age 66.

It is sad, and a reminder of our mortality, especially those of us who are getting up there in years. I recall Bubba at Michigan State, the other school if you went to u. Of Michigan , and his days in the NFL. After his professional evolution to acting, I lost track of him. Much good is said about him and that is the best legacy to leave behind. He was only a little more than a month older than I.

BTW, he was only 280 when he played. I wonder how big the guys are who play now, 50 pounds more and taller.

I talked to him for about a half hour once in Las Vegas...He told me that the Colts threw the SuperBowl vs the Jets in 1969..His teamates threw the ballgame. Jets were +19 in that game and they win it outright? Even at the age of 7 I knew it was fixed
