What a crazy end to the season!. They had been down by 7 in the 8th. They get 6 runs in the eighth. In the ninth, last out for the season Rays are down by one and it is a 2-2 count. A .108 hitter hits a home run and ties it. Then Red sox are up by one. Bal ties it with 2 outs in the 9th and right after the the rays hit a HR to avoid the Play in game. It was awesome!

The Boston Red Sox odds of reaching the playoffs peaked on Sept. 3. Following a 12-7 win against the Texas Rangers, they held a 9-game lead over the Tampa Bay Rays with 24 games to play, giving them a 99.6 percent chance of making the post-season.

Great chart! It is amazing they went 7-18 and Tampa went 18-7. And same with Atlanta. They blew a huge lead too!

Possible the most exciting ending to the MLB season ever and I was at the Rockies Play in game a couple years ago. ESPN did a great job covering it. Poor Red Sox nation.
