Wow. It seemed like he was too ornery to die. RIP to one of the most controversial, yet influential, and always original, football owners.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

You wonder what if any changes the Raiders will experience from here on.

It makes me wonder who the owner of the team is now, I wonder if the tradition of firing the head coach at random will continue?

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford

I thought Al Davis was a fun villain to hate, but I know at least a couple of Raiders fans who couldn't wait for Al to die so teh team could start winning again.

Wonder if the news brought a smile to Mike Shanahan's face?

Uh oh, now the raiders might actually be a good team, not a team in yearly fluctuation. Watch out Broncos!

Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!

I am going to miss the old duck tailed, jumpsuited man who actually saved the Broncos by combining the AFL with the NFL. Funny that our traditional rival kept the Broncos going.

My sources indicated to me that he was on his death bed on Thursday. I reported it on another board so I wasn't so nearly as suprised as everyone here was..

Guess there goes my theory that VL is Al Davis.
At least you have the same hair and clothing style right?
