Broncos: Christians and the Lions

Having a QB that can run the ball is a bonus; the Broncos need anyone else to run the ball. Historically successful QBs in the NLF throw the ball or hand it off to a runner, they don't normally run it on every play. Good intentions don't win football games, hard play, strategies, and successful red zone plays do.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

It's one thing for a pocket to loose form if the QB holds the ball too long. It does not sound like that was the case. And, who wouldn't have nervous feet or discomfort, Archer, if the same problems kept happening over and over again?

I think this. The Broncos know they have problems. They are going to stick with Tebow with a sink or swim philosophy. I would not be surprised to see him traded at the end of the year with the intent of getting enough draft picks to be totally flexible in the next draft. It seems logical, at this point, that there already is a thought and plan on how to acquire Luck as their savior. This barring unforeseen wins this year. If Tebow can survive and actually inspire and lead the team to three or more wins from here on out, they may reconsider a Luck plan.

While I can't say that I was watching every play critically to see if he had open men, Tebow definitely held onto the ball longer than he should've in a lot of cases and caused more than one sack. They knew this was going to be a tough defense, and he should've been prepping this week for quick releases. When he was getting it off, he was overthrowing and it wasn't pretty - he definitely was not comfortable/in a groove. But then, the whole team was outmatched and had no control of this game from the start.

RD's right, they know they have problems and this is a rebuilding year already - otherwise they wouldn't be trading their top receivers. Tebow still has time to show growth and promise; I'm not sure they would trade him at the end of this year no matter how badly he does though.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

It's not difficult for me to figure out why.....the man has heart, and a lot of raw talent. Whether or not he can put the two together and actually run a football tem remains to be seen.....but I hope they give him the time and the support to show if he can do that.

I agree with your perspective, Archer. Unfortunately, this is a business with a bottom line and a lot of impatience. Unless major improvement takes place over the rest of the year, I do think the bottom line will be the calling card and pink slip issued, popularity and heart aside. Another team with more patience will pick him up and like with Steve Young, the right coach will turn him into a excellent QB. I really don't care what the prognosticators offer up with their critical analysis. Sometimes you need to look at the intangibles and make them ore important than the status quo, namely the dogmatic perspectives on what a QB needs to look like and act like.

One thing I've learned in science is that far too often dogma becomes a mantra leading to an absence of critical observation and thinking. Lots of misinterpretations and misconceptions evolve from that until someone irreverent (like me) comes along, says, let me make up my own mind and finds out there are major issues with the current dogma. Then you fight an uphill battle against the dogmatic believers but eventually you win with facts and results. The fun part is discovery, the misery is prevailing against the herd of mindless critics.

Elway was crippled by Dan Reeves coaching style, maybe Fox can learn from that. Tebow moved the ball well on the first drive, may have been cheated out of a touchdown, then it was plain vanilla coaching after the first possession.

The silent majority will be silent no more.

John Lynch pretty much had the same perspective. Clearly there is a lot going on in the game we do not know about, unless you are VL. ,smirk> I'm not sure what to believe, but I do have a hunch that this is planned failure. Trade the best receiver before the first start. Then a ultra limited and conservative game plan? Come on. I read reports of Fox saying they tried all kinds of things. So if a rush gains no yards doe s he abandon it? No. If a short pass fails does he abandon it? Yes. Too many things are not adding up here. My perspective is Fox will not learn from Reeves control. He has an agenda. I'm saying right now that Tim will be elsewhere next year and in a few years time he will haunt the Broncos.
