Theo Epstein, the new manager of player personnel for the Chicago Cubs told Ryne Sandberg today that he will not be interviewing him for the Cubs job, but rumour has it that, he is looking at the old Boston Red Sox manager.
Meanwhile Epstein did give permission for the St. Louis Cardinals to interview Sandberg to replace retiring LaRussa. :faint: It would be really wierd to see Ryno in a Card's uniform.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
I'm pretty sure I heard on ESPN, that it was the Phils who gave permission to the Cards, to interview Sandberg. I assume he manages their Triple-A team. Also heard Sandberg say that he thought it was a classy move on Epstein's part, to have called him and let him know beforehand. But yeah, it would be pretty strange to see him in Cardinal red.
From the Onion:
Theo Epstein after seeing weed covered brick walls in the Wrigley Park outfield has them being torn down and replaced with the standard padded walls. "I can't believe the Cubs were playing in such a dangerous park. I have seen better Single "A" facilities.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
